    Who was a more difficult challenger.
    Could either one of them beaten a Top 20 American Fighter at the time of
    their heavyweight challenge.

    By 1976, Herbert Muhammad and Angelo Dundee were trying to satisfy Dr. Ferdie Pacheco by milking the cash cow and placing Ali in with limited opponents of poor skill.... But after Ali's tuff fight with Norton in Yankee Stadium, Ferdie Pacheco screamed for Ali's retirement.... Thus, the fight doctor was released from duty by Team Ali.... Then team Ali goes and signs with murderous hitter Ernesto Shavers in '77....... WTF?

    Dunn gave Ali a couple of decent rounds of competition as I recall. Coopman was a joke. His fight with Ali had to be one of the worst I have ever seen.

    Yes, I have to credit Richard Dunn, he did have some decent wins on
    his ledger.
    And a shocker, but a good win over Roy 'Tiger' Williams.
    And the guy came to fight.
    Despite having a reputation of having a 'glass jaw'.

    Jean Pierre, pure 'Belgian Waffle' in Puerto Rico.
    2 months earlier he wasn't anywhere near the WBA or WBC ratings,
    then a miracle, in the same week both the boxing orginazations rate him
    in the Top 10.
    Looks like those WBA and WBC sanctioning fee's came in handy.

    Jean-Pierre instead a re-match with Jimmy Young, who beat Ali.

    Has to be Dunn, as inept as he was (and anyone who gives Bugner the confidence to storm out of the blocks in the first round is as limited as they come) he did have a couple of good wins on his record. Whereas, Coopman lost twice to Lucien Rodiguez and was sparked in one by Evangelista. :lol:

    If only Lorenzo Zanaon had 'lost' to Alfredo Evangilista,,,,,,he would have gotten a
    Title shot.

    Has anyone ever figured out why, Alfredo, who loses an 8-Round decison to
    Zanon, in his home-base country of Spain, gets a title shot in his next fight.

    Was it that Uruguay connection?
