Joe Jeannette was offered $25,000 to fight in Australia in 1912 .He passed on the offer. Here is the link. http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cg...2.45&srpos=3&e=-------10--1----0Joe+Jeannette--
This sounds a little suspicious to me only because Jeanette's management would have to be incredibly, unbelievably stupid to pass up this offer. Do we have other evidence of this? Or about the other facts surrounding it?
I've just found it .I don't know if there are any corroborating reports out there. I agree . Why would you face Langford for chump change when you could get big bucks knocking over someone like Lang ect? Unless the Langford affair was to be a " go easy on each other type of affair" ?
Would the fight with ex champion Burns have gotten Jeannette a shot at champion Johnson? Also how much did he make for fighting Langford?
