Jeff Chandler .vs. Wilfredo Gomez

    What if Joltin' Jeff Chandler had stepped up in class & challenged Wilfredo Gomez for the SuperBantamweight Crown? About 1980 when both were at there peak. Fifteen rounds.

    At that time, Chandler was not even champ until the latter part of the year. Gomez wins by mid-round stoppage at that time.

    I liked Joltin' Jeff, but Gomez was the perfect 122 lb'er.

    All the bantam champs failed against him I believe....Zarate
    Pintor...and they were great too.

    To beat Gomez you had to have a chin like Sanchez and dish it back out when Gomez came flying in.
