    eff Fenech comeback?
By Ray Wheatley -- World of Boxing
Hall of Famer and former three-time world champion Jeff Fenech is rumoured to be making a comeback against Samart Payakaroon in a mid-June bout to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. Fenech, who scored a fourth round knockout over Payakaroon in a WBC jr featherweight title bout on May 8, 1987 in Sydney, Australia, last boxed on May 18, 1996 when he unsuccessfully challenged for the IBF lightweight title against Phillip Holiday losing in two rounds. Fenech finished with a record of 28 wins and 3 losses with 1 draw. He will be 44 years of age on May 28. Payakaroon will be 46 years of age on December 5. His record is 21 wins and 2 losses. Fenech would receive television rights into Australia which could result in millions of dollars.

ahh ... I was wondering who Mundine would fight next - I'm sure WBA will rank him at least 15 in their next rankings...

Well, he did get busted shop lifting so I wouldn't be surprised if he's blown his load, err wad, errr you know what I mean, he's gotta be broke!!!

And supposedly, he didn't initiate this contract, he was approached by the Thai's who still idolise their boy. Who'd blame him? I'd get in the ring at that age if I was going to get paid a million plus to fight another old timer and needed some extra dosh.

There have been plenty of other old timers coming back for the big pay days recently as well.

    He is a headline hore.

Im sure his high maintainence missus and the high tastes he is used to might be taking their toll on his wallet.

The Green breakup must of hurt his wallet to when it came to possible dollars made.

Fenech is abit of a goose but i kind of feel for the guy because he was the man that started the green vs mundine feud.It was really Fenech vs Mundine with green the puppet.

    Fenech ****ed up.

:verysad It's hard to comment when one does not know Fenech on a personal level BUT i can say this, he has been very helpful and supportive of me and the Australian boxing industry. Everyone needs money to live and the more you make the more you spend, if you can make a mill out of what you love doing then go for it I say :bbb
