One of the all time greats as a fighter. Very good trainer in the gym a bit emotional as a trainer in the ring very loyal person who 95% of the time is a great person but can be nasty if you get on the wrong side of him. Does a heap for different charities and as others have said very generous with his time and money that gets very little recognition. Very good with fans with signing stuff and having pictures taken. has probably been rude to many as well but each time i see him at the fights he is always happy to have a chat
?? WTF?? 118 lbs. Fenech vs any of the greats would see him iced out. Oz champs and legends, Elley Bennett and Paul Ferreri would eat him at 118. Lionel Rose would have sent Fenech into dreamland in VERY short time. Carruthers would box his ears off. Bill Mordey insisted "Satoshi Shingaki is the weakest Worls Champion in the sports histroy" ?? 122lbs?? Same. 126lbs, Fenech had a better reign. Fighting a couple of hard battles with tough opponents. Some classic fights. I give him credit at Feather. Fenech ended up copping beltings later in his career, which terminated at 31y/o, against fighters of his own natural weight. Yes, he was robbed in Vegas, but the duration as SF/W Champ would have been no longer than the time to afford Nelson a rematch. Yes, he won the titles.. A well paved promotional dream path.. but, to suggest he'd have given 'any of the greats' from 118-122lbs a test is ridiculous to say the very least.
You have just explained the whole 4 episodes Leon. It was truely cringeworthy stuff. Just terrible. :yep You forgot to mention those 2 dropkicks who would follow Jeff around like a bad smell. I think they were both just a couple of dole bludgers but i think one of them mentioned he was Jeff's manager or something. I loved the scene where Jeff is lying through his teeth to his young daughter regarding his habit of stealing expensive watches. From memory Jeff explains to his daughter that the police and media "have it in for daddy" and Jeff also throws one of his mates under the bus at this point and lays the blame for the watch stealing squarely at their feet. A very underrated series this. :hey
