Vicious is exacty what i would expect. Gomez with more power and a skill edge, Fenech with enormous stength, will and roughness.

So what ? Fenech destroyed Nelson in the first fight and that was the worst decision handed down in my lifetime of half a century. Cherry picking at it;s best and this shows your bias. Fenech's mental state after this robbery declined into an abyss, within months he was running around Sydney attacking shopkeepers and abusing all and sundry, it was a meltdown of epic proportions... I have personally witnessed the man during one of his meltdowns from less than 10 meters away. One minute jeff is happy and normal a second later he can become a raving lunatic but as a fighter when his mental state was pure he was a machine,,, yep bad hands but when he fought with those busted hands no one could tell they were broken until the adrenaline stopped at the final bell, then it was obvious he was in pain. But let's not pretend the Fenech of fight 1 is anything remotely like the Jeff of fight 2 is anything like the other.... He is not made that way... not only is he a very close mate of Mike Tyson he also has Tyson's personality and makeup.... you have to take the good with the bad with this type of fighter..... similar in fact to what the real Jake La Motta was like although Jake was mentally stronger, he unlike these two could bounce back......................... in time.

G, I can assure you I have no bias against Jeff Fenech. I actually liked him. But when he was on the go, KO magazine hyped the **** out of him and talked him up as if he was the best fighter on the planet. I always felt he was very good but not the best fighter on the planet.

Well, they gave him a lot of coverage because he earned it.

Without being on American TV much, the public would have been oblivious to his achievements.

I don't remember KO ever listing him as the top pound for pound guy on their list. He was on their top 10 list, probably in the top 5.

He didn't have the flash, overwhelming skill, and in some cases, big mouth of some others, but he had the quality wins to justify his place high up on pound for pound lists.

I'd have to go back but i think Fenech only really got their P4P recognition after the Draw with Nelson. Maybe before that he was at the bottom of the 10. He never reached top 2 or 3 from memory.
