I see your thinking, I just feel he doesn't get the recognition an actual win over Nelson would garner. Most people are reluctant to rate it as an outright win on his record.

And a win over Nelson for a former-Bantamweight champion is massive IMO.

But I agree with you on the rematch, it hurts him a bit.

    Could be.

Yeh, your right, I had my timeline messed up.

I see your thinking too. He got a lot out of losing, but yeah he would have sure got some out of a rightful decision too. Deffo.

    Fenech was a freak.

Especially since we all thought he would extract his revenge! I mean, it was written in stone!!! lol

The classic revenge tale. But alas, wtf.

Still would have been some achievement. Fukk Don King!!!!

Its more his long-term ranking it hurt (getting robbed), but at the time it was good for him. I think Fenech would be held a lot higher if he got the decision, I rate him quite high as it is.

I wouldn't want to tell him that!

He was just amazing though, he bullied Nelson around, and Nelson was physically a monster too.

    Was he a big favrouite?

We're on the same page for sure. Fenech was the definite fave in the rematch, solidly from memory.

That's an exaggeration.Fenech might have won clear on the cards but he didn't truly dominate or beat Zaragoza up until the last two rounds of the fight.
