I'd like to see Jeff rebuild and come back fully healed with a full consistent training camp based in America before having another crack at Crawford after a few confidence building fights with his new trainer in his corner. I feel the same way with Parker and Kevin Barry. These australian trainer's mean well indeed, there is no question, but the reality is they are holding these fighters back because they have no sound foundation boxing knowledge to teach them. They are more Tony Robbins motivational cheerleaders than actual coaches. I was very disappointed in Glenn. He let Horn down in a very big way, with the poor preparation, poor planning and poor instructions given in the corner whilst in the midst of battle. Jeff was left entirely on his own to figure out what to do in the ring against a polished and accomplished wily counter punching sharp shooter in Crawford. Instead of Jeff being advised on what Crawford was doing and what he needed to do to in order to adjust and nullify Crawford's attacks, he was given new age hippy bs encouragement, on ''believe in yourself' and ''you can do this Jeff'' 'Don't give up'' Too many Rocky films for Glenn. At that point Horn's heart must have sunk as low as my own when hearing those words. Glenn was simply out of his depth, which is why I think Garcia and Horn working together would fit like a glove. Robert rebuilt Maidana from the ground up and gave him new artillery to work with, new ideas, new dimensions and new unorthodox styles and approaches to fighting on the inside and outside when everyone else had given up on him. Horn is still young, still very much capable of improving. I'd like to see him against some more welters before immediately going back for his revenge against Terrance. Watch the Manny Pac fight, and you can see he definitely has all the tools and potential to match Terrance, with the right team and right camp behind him.
A completely adapted Robert Garcia trained Jeff Horn that is fully fit, with a settled training camp in the states, sparks Crawford clean out, the same way Maidana ruined Broner.
Jeff Horn needs to adapt his style. His ugly wrestling style needs to be changed. He is hit easily and he has no head movement. No defence strategy but using hug and hold when he is hit.
He needs to change his corner. I like Garcia in general, but only time will show if that's a good fighter-coach combo.
If you can remember Maidana use to be exactly the same. No head movement, and walking forward in straight lines just asking to be hit. Garcia transformed him into an all around boxer puncher style fighter who began targeting the body from awkward angles and throwing his opponents off with terrific punch selection.
The best trainer in the world might be able to improve him slightly but it would be difficult to work out the bad habits that Rushton has trained into him and I don't think Horn has the natural ability to improve much. He flays away with wild shots, rarely throws anything straight and rarely lands anything clean. He's one of the most inaccurate punches to ever hold a world title. I can hardly think of any top 10 ww that he would beat.
