I thought Pacquiao won by three rounds last night but what happened happened. Looking forward, if Manny decides to call it a day, WBO is Don Frank Warren's favourite division and Skeete is ranked number 4. If Pacquiao decides to retire, which is a big "if", I can see Skeete getting a voluntary against Horn. Horn is a dirty fighter, awkward and gritty. Doesn't look a big puncher IMO and looks easily hit. Skeete tears him a new arsehole.
Hearn would probably push Eggington into that position before Warren gets Skeete a shot. Warren just doesn't have the pull he used to. I think Horn is better than you are giving him credit for, look at how easily Pac handled Jessie Vargas in comparison. I expect Horn's next fight will be against Bradley or someone like that.
I had it 115-113 to Horn. For the most part, I thought Pacquiao was poor. Fair play to Horn, though. I'm interested to see how far he can go.
I scored it for Pacquiao too. A lot of the general forum posters scored it for Horn...I just don't see it. Manny didn't do enough in the first half of the fight so maybe that weighed on their minds.
Behave mate, Hearn would not have any more pull then Warren in that situation. Frank has just managed to bring over over Gervonta Davis in his first defence even though he is a Haymon fighter. Of course there are examples of both promoters doing good deals with overseas fighters but it's wrong to just say fast Eddie would get the job done over Frank especially as it's the WBO where talking about. Bob Arum Has probably got options on Horn anyway and he and frank have done business many times over the years.
Possibly, I just can't see Skeete getting the fight regardless. Walsh was Davis mandatory and I don't think will command the sort of purse that Horn will now be expecting after this win over Pac. I'd very much like to see either Eggington or Skeete vs Amir Khan, but I don't think either of those fights will happen either as Khan probably see's himself as "above" them when in reality I would give either a decent shot.
Imagine Khan in there against Pac last night. I know you don't like him but Amir probably would have wrecked him. Pac's speed and stamina has just gone, no killer instinct, couldn't finish an out on his feet Horn in the 9th. Agree Eggington v Khan would probably be an all-time British classic because of the clash of styles.
The thing is, as much as I hate Khan, When the fight was rumoured I thought Khan would win. Pac lacks that power he use to have and clearly has lost some skill. But it depends how Khan would have been after this long layoff He has no chin whatsoever but his boxing ability is great
A few guys will want a crack at Horn , Pacman has a rematch clause which apparently I wants to go for ! If not it represents a chance for Skeete or Eggington who in my opinion wouldn't normally be given much of a chance of being a world champion.
Eggington isn't ranked by WBO so I'm not sure why people think he is in the running for a shot. I know Baz Hearn loves him but can't see Matchroom making a huge offer for a title shot for him because I'd assume they wouldn't make a return on the sum needed to bring him over, because it's not PPV worthy. And if Horn did have to delve into the WBO rankings for a voluntary opponent, Skeete sure sounds more reasonable than Matthysse who destroyed Taylor last month, Vargas or Bradley.
No way, Warren is number 1 when it comes to the WBO, plus Skeetes ranked really high in that organisation
Horn is very beatable but you'll need some strength to handle his roughness on the inside. Him against Skeete would be a pretty good match actually.
