I didn't compare him to them I just illustrated there has been far worse voluntaries by longer reigning world champions.

 

one could add Stevenson to that list,another WBC champ with an awful list of defences his best being two wins over an already beaten Fonfara.

 

He had a voluntary against Sakio Bika who was coming off a loss against the least talented Dirrell at SMW.

Yeah but in Pimpensons defence Dawson was the WBC/RING champion at the time and Dawson's loss was at 168 against Ward.

The risk of dying in boxing is very very low as a profession. It's only made worse by the fighters cutting weight (which is self inflicted to try and gain an advantage). It's nothing compared to serving your country in the armed forces for instance which is actually risking your life and its for more than personal gain unlike boxing.
