Although Calzaghe easily beat him, Lacy obviously suffered from "Ooh, it's not fair I'm a Yank and I haven't got home advantage' shitting himself syndrome.

He also lost to Tsypko in their second encounter IMO.

I for my part would favour Lacy over Mundine and Froch.
A third encounter with Tsypko as well as fights with Braehmer,or Bute could go either way.
Styles make fights. The one-dimensional Lacy would be tailor made for Denis Inkin who would probably teach him a lesson in boxing as Joe Calzaghe did.
I would certainly bet my money on Lacy against fighters like Berrio,Stieglitz,or Andrade.

    Lacy will be back.
Hopefully fully recovered from that injury.

I dont think there is a formula or a certain style that solves Lacy, he just got beaten by a far superior fighter. Calzaghe and Kessler are in a league of their own at 168, Lacy is more than a punchers chance against the rest.

I would love to see Lacy against Bute, but imo, I don't think lacy's handlers will let him near a quick southpaw any time soon, given his last two showings against southpaws. But who know, maybe he is damaged goods and he will never be top 10 material ever again.

I'm sorry but as soon as I saw your post, I knew you would favour Inkin. May I ask you, who don't you favour Inkin against other than the top 2? Is he no.3 at SMW in your opinion?

If Tsypko made it very close then expect many others to be able to do the same if not worse and I'm a huge Lacy fight. I'm really looking forward to his next fight to know if the Calzaghe fight really DID ruin him since he was injured in the Tsypko fight and we didn't know 100%.

I think if Lacy gets back to the form that destroyed Reid, then he can be the top dog at SMW in a few years. He needs to completely erase Calzzghe out of his mind, or better still, learn from it and make sure it don't happen again.

    He is quite immobile though.

Problem here is momentum and belief in self-- both of which were halted by Calzaghe.

Even if he erases Calzaghe from his mind the beating his body took that night can't be erased.

Calzaghe has already schooled his ass, Kessler would do the same and probably stop him. Id favour Bute to beat him, then Lacy would have a good chance against anyone else.

Lacy fought Tsypko with one arm for 7 rounds. Give me a break. Fact of the matter is that none of us have seen Lacy fight healthy since the Calzaghe fight, and none of us know how well he can recover, whether he's improved, whether he's regressed, or whether he's lost his confidence. All of that is just speculation. When he beats the tar out of Manfredo on the Mayweather undercard, we'll have a better idea of whether or not he's back.

Lacy will never be the same again. fighters are never the same once they get such a thorough beating what calzaghe gave him. the damage that fight has done to lacys confidence and aura will never be recovered.

it sickens me that calzaghe never got the chance to fight hopkins because i am absoloutly positive he would have schooled hopkins and then maybe you yanks could have understood how good calzaghe actually was in his prime.

Lacy would beat pretty much everyone in the SMW division.

I reckon at least 80% of the posters on this thread who have said that people like Mundine/Bute/Froch etc would beat Lacy were the same posters who thought Lacy was going to beat Calzaghe.

Its funny how people base everything off one fight.
