Nah. The "0" is what's overrated. Makes fighters 0verly cautious, and it gets 0verprotected.

The only ones who feel he is underrated are Calzaghe fans.

Lacy's best wins are a shot Robin Reid, and Vitali Typo

If he had gone on to do anything worthwhile afterwards(or even before), it would be one thing. But the guy did basically nothing. JC was his first real step up in competition and he got his doors blown off.

The way he got schooled means he was way too hyped.

Also, he hasn't done much since either.

Lacy was overrated even after his win against Omar Shieka. He's right where he should be.

He beat Syd Vanderpool to win that IBF belt.. Vanderpool at that time was still a pretty good fighter.. That was fight Lacy was losing early on... He crushed Pemberton... beat up that Rubin Williams guy, Sheika was tough one for him.. Beat up Robin Reid... It took Vernon Forrest a while before he started to look pretty good coming from shoulder injury.. SAme could be said for Lacy....

Lacy was an absolute animal at the time. but like all young fighters or inexperienced fighters had some clinx in the Armor. Shaw should of took it slow with him but then again shaw thought Calzaghe was a euro bum. oh how that night shook the way American fighters approached European fighters. thing is Cal is a special fighter. Lacy although having potential was not a finished product and switching trainers didn't help him any.

thing is the man went against a special fighter still near his prime that he wasn't ready for. Shaw always finds away to rush his big punching in experienced fighters some get ruined other bounce back if strong mentally. i think Lacy was on his way bouncing back until that shoulder injury. he was raping Typsko unitll it happened. look at Angulo Shaw rushed him into a fight with Cintron thinking Cintron would wilt . Andre Dirrell a raw Superb talented fighter(although i dont like his way of fighting sometimes ie: stevens and froch fight) he throws him in the Super Six and his inexperienced ass fails in his opening fight . Shaw should of built him up and honed his skills granted the loss helped and humbled him a bit but had he had more experience against some crude sluggers and abroad to get use to a hostile non american craowd he would of fought the whole fihgt how he fought like he fought the last 3 rounds. i have nothing against having the best fight the best but Dirrell wasn't even in the top 10 unlike Ward and didn't even beat a name opponet. although records shouldn't matter they do and if Dirrell leaves this tournament with more then 1 loss it'll be hard for him to break through.

Lacy was already shot from the surgery and wasn't worth a **** to begin with. Sorry to rain on your parade but people being wrong about Lacy doesn't make you right about slappy joe being an ATG. Joe's resume is so incredibly thin supporters are still working to prop up this hump?

Negative. Lacys flaws were VERY apparent when he turned pro. Because of his physique and the hype stateside that actually likened him to a young Tyson he was given the push and his career was accelerated somewhat by putting him into title contention very quickly. Lacy did what he was supposed to do Vs guys like Sheika and co but he's performances were distinctly average.

Lacy has the right attitude and is a throwback in that respect. But he's a mental midget with zero boxing acumen. I dont know what on earth he works on in the gym but its not boxing. He has no jab. No headmovement. No ring general knowledge to speak of. Poor footwork. Overrated punching power and the rotator cuff injury he sustained has probably curtailed his career. Jeff would be best of retiring as he's taken ALOT of punishement in his career and the effects of it are already showing through his slurred speech.

As for Shaw he's nothing more than a leech. He saw a potential cash cow and miliked it for what it was worth. Shaw doesnt give two shits about his fighters unless he's making nice change.
