Tomorrow will be jeff and Roger Bloodworth first fight working together, after there split 5 years ago . This fight will answer allot of question regarding jeff state of mind ,and if Joe truly slapped the fight out him or was it just bad timing after injuring his shoulder in the Vitali fight that made it seem that way. I personally believe Jeff was a much better fighter under the guidance of Bloodworth than with Dan, with Dan he looked sloppy and took way too many shots trying to land the money punch .. I looking for the old Jeff that used to box move his head and used his jab to setup combos and pressure his opponents as well as cut off the ring.
Spelled 'Lacy'. I hope the healthy Lacy will show up, he's recieved a lot of undeserved critique from the boxing community.
Lacy was damn good w/ Birmingham -- it wasn't the trainer ... it was the fighter. You can't say that Birmingham was telling him to knock people out ... he was actually a better boxer with Birmingham. Birmingham was his trainer for the majority of his career ... amateur and pro ... now once he gets with this bloodworth guy he's all of a sudden a different fighter ... no Who got this man to the elites of the US and on the world class level as an amateur?
I have to disagree greatly on this look at jeff early fights and look at him after Birmingham Two different fighter , he went from boxer puncher to slugger .. Bloodworth also worked with lacy some in the amateur and the olympic. its not always a good thing to stay with your amateur coach , it can cause a fighter stagnate in there growth mentally and skill wise. jeff showed more poise and ring experience then at the end .. look at how use the jab against low in his first pro fight , he looked better then , then he does now.
