You got the wrong info. I told everyone this fight would never happend. Dana is real scare when it comes to his fighters stepping in the ring even with guys that are past their best days. It happend with Silva and Roy Jones, Mercer never had an opportunity since his KO on Sylvia and I def. knew when Dana said he was going to have a private meeting with Diaz, this fight was off. The only way is convincing Lacy to enter the cage and he might be desperate. Dana is a marketing genious and smart when it comes to business.

I find it funny that a lot of the fighters that Boy Toy idolizes show more respect for the sport than he does. Quite a few of them have actually fought professionally inside the boxing ring...With varying degrees of success.

Chris Lytle (Welterweight contender in the UFC) was probably the most successful MMA fighter turned boxer going 13-1. Most of his fights were in the Midwest against journeymen like the redoubtable Reggie Strickland, though. But props to him for keeping for a reasonably extended period of time.

Anderson Silva tried his luck in the ring (and was stopped). So did Melvin Guillaird. And other boxers have tried their hand at MMA and had some success (Laverne Clark- a journeymen super middle- worked his way into contention when he switched from the ring into the cage).

There's no guarantee that an MMA fighter is gonna automatically do well (or poorly) if they switch to boxing. Nor is it a lock that an MMA automatically tools a boxer inside the cage.

The sports are the way they are, and you'd think that after close to ten years, fans of each sport would have realized it.
