i live in tampa now so i like jeff lacy, but he should stop fighting. i honestly believe calzaghe ended his career. he had a good record 23-2 with 15ko's. his losses to joe and jermain are nothing to be ashamed of, but i do not believe he can beat top fighters, he is a c+ fighter and should promote and not box. i would hate to see him get seriously hurt or brain damage. he has slow hands and poor defense. since his shoulder injury he lost his power so there isn't much he can do offensively. i wish jeff the best at promoting and pray that all he does is promote

I feel bad for the guy personally. I think Calzaghe ruined that ****. He should of quit mid rounds imo, would be no shame in doing so. But he was eating punch after punch and basically got his ass straight up whooped. That was quite a beating he got. Ill even compare that beating to a Bowe- Golota type, thats how bad I think it was.

I feel sorry for Lacy, i bought the video game fight night and Lacy was the joint best character, he had the same stats as Ali, and better than Tyson, Louis etc, Lacy was suppose to be the next RJJ, but Calzaghe destroyed him, Lacy's problem are mental, he has never got over the easy easy chants and the beating he took from Calzaghe.

maybe if he promotes himself it would be a nice change for him, and he might regain his focus.

Lacy took a beating against Calzaghe (which I think ended his chances of being a top fighter)...but what REALLY ended his career was that terrible surgery he had.

Calzaghe didn't end his career. The full thickness tear in his shoulder ruined his career. Calling Jeff Lacy a C+ fighter is absurd, and a slap in the face. Lacy was an absolute beast before his shoulder injury. Calzaghe was just simply too much too soon for Lacy. Joe was unbelievable that night. Jeff Lacy even looked great in his next fight for the first two rounds before tearing his shoulder... after which he has NEVER been the same.

The best way for him to promote himself is to win on a consistent basis and win convincingly.

    Otherwise...just more of the same....

without the left hook his whole offence had gone, he didnt set up with a jab he set up with a left hook, his right hand was also a danger punch (the ko of pemberton was horrific) also it was th eonly punch he could land against taylor...the one that caused taylor to "slip"

agaisnt tyspko he was doing well until his left hand went in the 2nd and vitali who hasnt got major workrate looked like frazier agaisnt him.

manfredo tried to outbox him but lacy didnt come foreward. so it turned into a nelson-deleon affair without either wanting to trow with the fear of getting caught. also it was a right hand that did it proof that lacy's hook has been silenced.

then mendoza almost stops him on 4 occasions.

he needs to set traps to be honest...if he cant go on the front foot and he hasnt got the hieght to box then it's time to be an archie moore or a james toney and set traps, he has good punching technique and a decent chin...and his defence isnt top notch so why not be a counterpuncher? "kna what i mean harry"

yeah total agreement form me. i never thouht of him as an elite fighter an most were sure he was gonna be beaten by a top class mover with decent handspeed...most not thinking calzaghe could do it. but he was a solid fighter and a beast of a puncher...he was getting outboxed by pendlton and vanderpool aswell a bit until he landed the punches. dropping and stopping robin reid is a very good achievment. he looked to be improving his combos were getting faster and he started to become a bit more technical than physical.

but now without the hook thats time to stick a fork in him ...he's done.

my point exactly,he WAS a beast.the shoulder injury made him slower and less powerful.he was not always a c+ fighter but he is now.

fans saying a fighter should retire is one of my pet peeves. Are you gonna give him a higher paying job? if not then let that motha****a feed his family how he sees fit!
