Lacy has never been stopped just outpointed by Calzaghe - rather you say he got blew out or not, to be dominated like that and not to go down says alot about him. Pavlik isn't going to fight like Calzaghe -- and Pavlik will soon find out that he can't knockout Lacy. Lacy's going to come the same way and just come forward and throw bombs. Lacy wins the war of attrition...
He did knock him down and won by UD ... whats betterr than that? Manfredo shouldve been stopped several times during that fight and was battered and bruised.
Nothing has changed with Lacy since the Calzaghe fight -- he lost and bounced back with two victories. Calzaghe is a slick, southpaw, with great speed. Much, much, faster than Pavlik is and throws alot more punches than Pavlik does. In addition to that Calzaghe was in and out, side to side, while Pavlik is come forward ...
You mean the same right hand Manfredo stay away from , and this was Lacy first showing after his Shoulder operation , he had more muscle and was slower then the previous versions of himself.
I see Pavlik letting Lacy get into a rhythm and getting off shots that he shouldn't get off. Yeah they're looping punches - but those are the worse kind, especially if they're unexpected.
The thing Calzaghe did against Lacy was not let him get into a groove to throw those bombs ... He got off first then got the hell out of the way.
Manfredo got beat all around the ring -- I have the fight on tape brother. Manfredo didn't even fight ... all that **** he talked about Lacy being one dimensional -- often avoided Lacy's power.
Lacy may have big muscle but he is still a Knock out puncher that has not changes, because he lost to Joe. Lacy throw hook and upper cuts and does throw straight hand and his connect percentage is very good against fighter that stand in front of him , which pavlik will do , Lacy hand and foot speed is just enough stay on top of pavlik who is a come forward fighter and against the bigger lacy it would be a mistake .. sorry bigger man win this right now.
When Pavlik fought McKart on the inside he got dropped and McKart cannot punch like Lacy. I give the edge to Birmingham over Lowe in the training part -- yeah Lowe keeps Pavlik in good condition but Birmingham has the experience and has had a bunch of champions. I think the game plan would be to back Pavlik up because he can't fight going backwards.
