Did you even watch the fight? He looked awful :patsch, and against someone like Mafredo. You seriously can't expect someone that struggles against Manfredo and expect to beat a world class boxer in Pavlik.

Lacy KO's Miranda with one punch, no accumulation of bombs, just one punch.

Didn't Manfredo get knocked down? Yes

Didn't Manfredo retreat once he tasted Lacy's power? Yes

Did Manfredo think he won after the fight? No

Lacy isn't world class? Yes he is

He would still have his belt if he choose not to go to England and fight Calzaghe.

Well, you've correctly stated that Lacy has both the size & style advantage, but there's one thing you've overlooked:

    Class.

Again, he was fighting Manfredo, if he really was worldclass he should have taken him out, not win on a boring 10 round UD :-(.

If you compare quality of opposition then the edge goes to Lacy -- he fought legit super middleweight ... while Pavlik (except Taylor) has been fighting junior middleweights.

Class? dude Lacy is world class ... he's fought guys from everywhere around the world so he's seen different styles. He has a great amateur pedigree, and he's traveled to whales and fought against then 8 year reigning champion. The only guy from the US to unify titles against Calzaghe. We wouldn't be talking about Joe is Lacy hadn't went to Whales.

Lacy would still be defending that belt if he hadn't have went to Whales.

After a year of inactivity and coming off of shoulder surgery he fought well against a guy who was active.

Yeah he looked rusty but you can't expect much after a layoff like that.

A UD against a top 10 ranked (WBO) Manfredo is sufficiant.

Are you ****ing joking?! Lacy has beat nobody worth mentioning! Unless you count Robin Reid, whose best days were in the last century.

Define Class in this situation , because Lacy is every bit a world class fighter with only 1 loss to Joe . Mikkel Kessler also has 1 loss to Joe and I think he beats pavlik also.

If this thread was Bute Vs Lacy Id go with Bute only because of his Boxing style of fast hands and feet and his ability to use angles but Pavlik has not shown he can do any of that , once he does then come back and talk to me.

Yeah man i'm serious ... Those were legit 168 pounders, a couple of those guys previously had belts as well. The reason why you never heard of them was probably the 168lb division was dominated by Europeans and the big US networks didn't televised 168lb bouts that much.

If Lacy didn't fight Joe we wouldn't be hearing about Joe ...

Joe would still be labeled as a guy who didn't fight anyone and never came out of Europe.... I'm pretty sure that Kessler wouldve neglected to go to Whales in favor of coming to the US and fight Lacy.

Lacy was the talk of the super middleweight - not Joe despite being champ for 8 or 9 years at the time
