Pavlik has a good jab and OK skills, but he certainly is not the athlete or craftsman Calzaghe is.

As evidenced by Pavlik/Taylor II, Kelly also is fairly easy to time. Taylor, who never has exhibited much in the way of timing, consistently landed clean shots. Kelly's defense is OK when he's set, but he is slow bringing his punches back, and that's the moment that can be exploited. Someone such as Lacy, with more power, aggression, shorter punchers and a far better workrate than Taylor, could take him out.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that version of Lacy is gone. He doesn't appear to have the confidence, and his chin and shoulder also have been softened up. Nowadays, Pavlik TKO 8.

This is a bit premature don't you think ? after losing to Joe he fights Tsypko injures his shoulder sometime in the early rounds is out for 1 year comes back fights a active fighter in Manfredo and looks very rusty , these are hardly the two fight you want to gauge Lacy on, he need at least 2 more fight before we know anything.

True, we don't yet for sure. I just say that because the signs so far have not been good. He was hurt badly by Tsypko, suggesting his chin is not what it was, and then he was pushing his punches and generally looking unconfident against Manfredo. Actually, his performance reminded me quite a bit of Jesus Chavez's most recent TV fight.

But I'd love to be wrong. Lacy is one of my favorites and I hope he recovers OK.
