I never saw his fight with Manfredo-- but did he win, win comfortably, or was Manfredo robbed? Could it have been a draw?

Will Jeff just be recycled to younger contenders and become an easy defence for the champs?

Sad-- if he regained a title, it would increase the stature of Joe's win over him. If Kessler doesn't regain a title and unify, Joe's legacy is really going to suffer.

    Just my thoughts.

His career has been ended by the stubbornness of his own corner

Without the knockdown, the Manfreado fight literally could have gone either way. The knockdown sealed it, although it WAS that close.

Honestly, for Lacy it's time to pack it in. He made some big cash when he was on the hype train a couple years ago, he doesn't need to be fighting anymore.

manfredo didnt do enough in that fight to win and lacy showed he had power still.......nothing has really changed......Im not sure if lacy would last with kessler, bute or even froch these days.....and just think he said he wanted a rematch with calazghe haha

I think he can still be a factor, his power will still be able to bail him out in close fight. He obviously needs to avoid fast boxers with a lot of skill and who cna take a punch, i.e. Calzaghe, Kessler. I would like to see him face Allen Green who, although is fast and skilled, is very chinny.

Manfredo looked ill, like he had the flu. Boxed well though for most of the fight. Lacy by a round or 2 after the knockdown, but Lacy looked bad. I was real disappointed. Lacy looked gun-shy and wouldn't pull the trigger on openings. Looked strong but slow of hand and foot.

I thought Lacy looked like shite. Slightly out of shape and SLOW AS HELL. He beat Manfredo, but it wasn't that comfortable of a decision. After I saw that performance I am firmly convinced that he is indeed shot. Funny too; I just read an article the other day on a site that likes to talk about boxing and they ranked him as the #4 super middleweight :nut because "he has only lost to JC". They must not take into account when a guy looks like **** . He MIGHT make #10 on my SMW list....maybe. He's done though imo

Name one similarity that Lacy and Dawson shares. Is Kessler the next Lacy is the better question. Kessler is actually pretty one-dimensional and robotic.. Dawson is a much better overall fighter.

I'd never even heard of Lacy before JC wooped his ass......what did most US fans actually think of him after the Robin Reid fight going into the Joe Cal build up?

I think the trouble with Dawson is that he's inbetween the great prospect and champion phase where we all know he has potential and is skilled, but hasnt won anything yet......given the chance I hope he doent let the whole of the USA down cos you'll seem to be clinging onto him as the next great american boxer.

Unproven hype jobs of any nationality

such as Audley Harrison haha or maybe a Povetkin and Dawson.....these guys may well be good....but for people to say Dawson at this stage of his career would beat the top, top guys is very premature

He was HUGE over here. You have NO idea. Ask around, search, or make a thread. You would NOT believe what people were saying before the Joe C. fight.
