Jeff Lacy is tough, but come on!

 

It'd be hilarious if Jeff rediscovered some form and knocked out a host of fighters en route to winning back a title. ESB might implode.

Good for him indeed, I like Jeff, he may be known as "the hypejob who got exposed by Calzaghe"

but he was actually a very good fighter and a respectful, likeable guy, after the Calzaghe fight, the previously unbeaten American hope Jeff Lacy said this:


"I have no excuses, it was a shutout, Joe fought a tremendous fight"

I wish other fighters were more like Jeff Lacy

 

Impossible because he ripped his shoulder apart

It was against Tsypko, and he was on his way to ending it early when he ripped his shoulder, and had to hold out for an MD

was never the same again, but don't kid yourself into saying Prime Lacy was not a good fighter

He could become a champion again, if he has the same diet that got Mundine down to 154.

Exactly, Lacy was a flawed fighter, but it's an injustice to remember him by his resume post prime and post shoulder injury, he could have been a great fighter IMO but getting put in with Calzaghe (as the favourite...HOT favourite might I add) with only 20 plus fights was a sacrifice that didn't need to be made so soon, thanks Gary Shaw (Lacys adopted family were trying to get him pulled out sooner, but hero Gary Shaw starts telling the corner to pull Lacy out TEN SECONDS before the final bell)

 

did he look good doing it?

don't think he can come again. what Joe did to him, and looking shot in his fights after and all. but i wish him well. Morales looked shot at one point and came back to surprise most, so you never know.

 

I remember going from picking Limond to beat Morales in his comeback, to picking Morales to beat Maidana


and yeah as I said, it was a combination of Joe humiliating him, and him ripping his shoulder in his very next fight (he was winning the first round and half impressively before it happened) in the second roundand was never the same again

 

hence why I said rediscover. I don't think Jeff was as half as bad as many make out but if they hate a certain Welshman they have an ulterior motive for trashing poor injured jeff.
