According to examiner.com, trainer Jeff Mayweather, the uncle of unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr., feels that theres really no one at lightweight that can give former super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KOs) any problems with the exception of Juan Manuel Marquez, if Marquez was interested in moving back down in weight from light welterweight to take the fight. Other than that, theres no one at lightweight that hang with Broner. Marquez isnt even ranked in the lightweight division anymore, as hes moved up in weight to light welterweight and currently holds the WBO light welterweight title. Hes not going to go back down in weight to fight Broner, not at this point in his career. Marquez wants the big cash and Broner isnt quite there year. Linares would be an interesting match up. Lundy is a nice litmus test. Abril would be boring as **** but interesting to watch. Come to think of it though...lightweight division is weak as **** right now. 140 is where it's at.
Linares would be knocked out. there is no way he can last 12 rounds with someone who hits as hard as Broner no matter how many rounds he may win.
The air is getting to this kid already, good good fighter, but no good names on his record so to speak, certainly not for all the hype that he is getting and pbf comparisons. For 24 fights though he is al most getting as much hate from people and if he racks up more wins average or not people gonna despise that dude more than floyd. He needs to stop cutting his hair at the back of his head so high looks ridiculous, i guess my main query is whether or not he will continue to train with his current trainer/handlers or leave for one of the mayweathers andleave gbp for money team promotions
