    From M a x b o x i n g:

    http://www.maxboxing.com/news/promo-lead/jeff-mayweather-why-is-floyd-the-bad-guy

JM: Boxing needs to be cleaned up because it’s just like baseball. I’m not targeting Manny, but I’m talking about him in a sense because everyone wants to point the finger at my nephew like he’s the bad guy. I’ll give you another example: Michael Carbajal was the 108-pound champion when Tommy Hearns was still fighting. Ray Leonard was still fighting. [Wilfred] Benitez was fighting. Donald Curry. Can you see Carbajal beating any one of those guys?

RM: Different fighters in a different era, but I don’t think Michael Carbajal specifically would be able to move up and carry the weight like Manny did.

JM: It has nothing to do with that. I’m asking, can you conceive that because that’s what Manny Pacquiao is doing. The same guy who was knocked out at 106 pounds (Note: Pacquiao was knocked out at 112 pounds). The same guy at 126 pounds whose knockout ratio was 66%. In the Clottey fight, at 147, his knockout ratio, 21 pounds above that, was 100% [before the fight]. Doesn’t that raise a red flag? You don’t see the red flag when you say Manny Pacquiao, but you raise it when I mention Michael Carbajal. But it’s the same. There’s no difference.

its clear that Mayweather recognizes that Pacquiao is a much better fighter than Carbajal

Also, Hearns, Leonard and Benitez **** all over Oscar, Floyd, and Cotto.

Sorry guys Jeff makes a valid point, you move up in weight you usually become more creative. Manny is blowing welters out with the same speed he had at 126. The added weight and musle usually takes a toll on speed. You guys that love to just blow this off are the blind fan that can see their fighter do no wrong. I've been watching boxing sense I was 5 years old. In that time I can't remember seeing a fight move up that much and not have to be craftier to win, because of the weight slowing them down and affecting their legs. Some of our comments are truely amazing in you defense of Pacquiao some of you should just read them oblectively.

Didn't mayweather just blow out a WW after coming up from 106 at 16 years old to 147 at 32 years old?

Yeah, but some fighters get stronger when they approach 30. Muscle keeps developing until 40-something. But I see your point.
Of course, maybe Pac was very drained when he fought at the lower weights.

Just look at his in ring weights. He was life and death at 130 with JMM, but he weighed in at 145 for the in-ring weight. He cut 16 lbs for that fight and weighed in at 129 for the official scales. A 16 lb weight cut will impact anyone's performance. His weight has been pretty stagnant since about 2006.

I'm not sure what he's avoiding blood testing over, but the facts are all I'm really interested in until there's reason to believe otherwise. He's tested clean, his weight hasn't shot up, he hasn't gained significant amounts of muscle. Dropping the Mayweather fight over the testing would have been suspicious if it was the only reason he didn't sign for, which it wasn't. Mayweather has come up from the same weight in the same time and is bigger than Pacquiao as it stands. People tend to side with the accuser, but I'm trying to reserve judgment.
