Well, he was honest. Floyd isn't going to go into High Guard and get wailed on, Jim Lampley acted like an idiot, and what derailed the fight was Pacquiao running from a drug test.
Jeff does seem to have his head in some realm of reality. The Lampley point is old news though. To act like Lampley only started cheer leading the house fighter for this fight kind of UTTERLY ignores his entire history at HBO.
I agree to what Jeff said. Clottey and Floyd are two different fighters with two different styles. Pacquiao fought according to Clottey's style and if ever Pac and Floyd fight, expect Pacquiao to make some changes. He won't do the same offense to Mayweather. That's why Pac vs Floyd NEEDS to happen. I am also starting to believe that the reason Pac vs Floyd didn't happen in the first place is that both GBP and TR are trying to hype this fight to the extent that it will be THE biggest fight in the history of boxing. The blood testing is just something to hype this fight up. Pac vs Floyd will be the biggest fight in history. Probably in the same levels as those legendary fights in the past... or even maybe above it!
Jeff Mayweather is just being real here, I agree with 100% of what he says. As far as the commentary in that fight...Ya know, I usually don't mind Lampley too much... he's like the nostalgic voice of HBO Boxing.. But the 'bang bang bang bang bang' thing was GAY and made me cringe in embarrassment for him. He was trying to make a boring ass fight seem kind of exciting but it was just a failure all around.
Do we really need so many people reminding us Clottey doesn't fight like Floyd. Everyone knows that. It's like a chip on their shoulder "OH PAC WON, BUT FLOYD DOESN"T FIGHT LIKE THAT, REMEMBER!"
On the other hand, how many people on here have been using the Clottey fight as evidence of their theory that Pacquiao would dominate Floyd? It's more than an insignificant few. So evidently some people, at least, need to be reminded.
