It looks like Jeff Monson is heading to Strikeforce as the latest in a string of high-profile signings by the promotion.
Around The Octagon have stated that sources close to the fighter have told them the signing is complete and 'The Snowman' is expected to drop to 205lbs when he appears on the roster.
Monson is the archetypal 'fight anybody, anytime' type fighter who likes to keep active and this has seen him compete in various promotions, most notably challenging for the UFC heavyweight title but losing to Tim Sylvia.
The list of countries he has visited this year to fight includes Japan, USA, Mexico and Brazil but it looks like Strikeforce may rein in the free-spirited grappling whizz. If he does indeed decide to drop to light-heavyweight, new signing Dan Henderson could be on the list of possible adversaries as well as the likes of Gegard Mousasi and Renato Sobral with Fedor, Werdum and Overeem possible at heavyweight.
Based at American Top Team, Monson is a threat to anybody with his wrestling and submission skills and will be a welcome addition to a growing roster.

Muther****a im off to bang my missus!! :happy:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy

    Excellent news.

Although Monson making 205 is highly unlikely

I'm glad hes moving down. Even if he fights at heavy he should way in around 220; hes way too slow at 240.

Exactly, I'll believe it when I see it. Either way, he is a good addition to Strikeforce roster.

Oh yeah, and we have a pretty nice b-league going here. Not too deep, but plenty of good fights to last a half dozen events or so.

Another quality signing for Strikeforce. Excellent move for the Snowman as well, big fan of his. Some great match-ups to be made.
