This video also has never before seen footage of jabba the hut. Kind of a weird plot twist now that he is a bearded boxing trainer working out of his garage, but you can't mistake that jowl. Jabba the hut for sure.

That's the thing about his amateur career that mirrors his pro career. Evidently there is no footage of him fighting or anyone that has actually seen him fight but he is supposed to be some big prospect.

There is no doubt more footoage of him playing football than boxing.

It took me a long time realizing that Jeff Page Jr. wasn't the son of a marginally well-known boxer from the 80's. (thus giving him, even if he weren't born with abundance of talent, at least the leg up of having a 'hook' in the industry, born into the family business, as it were...) - for some reason my brain always transposed it to "Greg Page Jr." - but the son of the fringe contender turned Cinderella Man heavyweight champ (briefly, and luckily, but in the record books nonetheless) he isn't.

I'd literally be staring at his name and my brain would stubbornly read "Jeff" as "Greg"...until quite recently.

There was, incidentally, no 'Jeff Page Sr.' of any relevance, as far as boxing goes, near as I can tell.

So he in fact isn't 2nd generation boxer, didn't really take on a who's-who in the amateurs, has fought nobody in the pros, has precious little available footage, and yet is a "big prospect". :blood

 

A poster named Flatlander used to contribute on here and he was a boxing insider/trainer in Kansas, the state where Page is from.

Could Local Stigmatic be the earstwhile Flatlander???

 

Why did Page's team take this fight? Are they that confident in him?! :?
