    Indeed.

Its not much better for the Honey Bee, after inpregnating a Queen, its balls explode shooting its **** off to plug the Queen up, stopping the other males getting in on the action, now that's what I call dedication.

Or just give them the cold shoulder, waiting for them to break the ice with a comment first.

Nice post, the bit I've bolded I agree with as well. One life and most of it spent at work. I agree it's a model that works, but does seem a waste sometimes.

I also agree that work is the best way to go about things. But the few opportunities you get to explore the World (unless you're blessed, and indent mean that literally and mean for it to cover many different levels of comfort achieved in many different ways) seem few and far between.

It means more when it happens. But as a normal 9-6 guy in a pretty average surburban western existence I don't find I'm genuinely excited about what I'm doing more often than not.

Just middling along. Could be better, could be worse. If I was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo or 90s Kosovo I can't imagine how hateful I'd be

Oh, yeah course it is. That's why I laughed then. Still, appropriate sample.

I wrote this a few pages ago and it is a partial explanation to divorce. Other factors would be to with societal pressure on the concepts of marriage which mean that people who are not even totally sold on one another get married because it is "what you do".

Modern pressures around money, work and the fact that most family units in the west now have two working parents and child care to deal with as opposed to the old fashioned way of very segregated conjugal roles also make it more wearing and hard for both parties. But the biological issues mean that some are more inclined to mongomy and bonding than others.

Rob, people getting divorced does not disprove that love is a chemical reaction bought about to form bonds between man and woman. That's just daft. There can be be thousands of reasons, the primary one being that getting married DOES NOT mean that you are in love.

Sure, it's something that people in love do, but not every one who is married is in love. Marraige is a man made thing and has no bearing on evolutionary instincts.
