That's true though.

Some people would rather delude themselves and believe in something like religion for which there is no evidence, as long as it makes them happy.

Others would rather seek to understand the true reality of their situation regardless of how that makes them feel.

I know which camp I'd rather be in and which people I'd rather be around.

I'd say that anyone who suspends their critical faculties and knowingly goes along with something as blatantk fictional as religion in order to hide from reality and make themselves feel better probably is probably depressed about what's really going on.

 

But... how does that make him depressed?

Being unhappy and being depressed are very different things. I might be unhappy that my bathroom floor still doesn't have tiles on it, or that I'm not getting the pay bump I want, but it's not really depressed.

Depression sufferers tend to be quite conceited and self-centred, and feel that no one can understand them or their pain. That's not to say they're selfish, it's just a common trait. They wouldn't care about knowing stuff in many cases.

I think you've just decided that Flea doesn't want to share the lifestyle you've decided on so, therefore, there's something "wrong" with him.

What evidence is there to show there is a god, for all you know you could be living in the Matrix
