Im not a believer in god tbh, I can understand why people have faith and are religious and don't have a problem with it, if it can help them and guide them in anyway then great fair play to you, its just not my thing.

Not defending Rob he's forthright with his views which is down to him but i prefer that to laughing and mocking him, I don't handle topics with a he did wrong as well attitude.

    Anyways let's move on.

Yeah I know what you mean. Not talking about this thread, as I feel the debate has been civil and fair, but just in general. Non believers can be just as arrogant as believers with their views. The Lisa Simpsons of the world who like to feel good about themselves by mocking the believers. I'm no believer, and like I said I view the bible as fiction, but some of the coolest people I've met have been catholics.

Fair enough - I just viewed it as spirited banter and debate. I think people were mocking his defence of religion rather than religion itself.

 Lisa Simpsons, That's a good one caught a episode of it the other night and funnily enough was about religion :good.

I can totally understand why religion pisses people off when you get cults, sects and nutcases ruining it. I wouldn't preach to anyone but everytime i have questions i search and i get answers whether it be from brothers and sisters or from sites that give understanding.

It's worth noting that a lot of people find faith later on in life, Jimmy Tibbs being a good example, he was going down the wrong path and finding god changed his life around, so its hard to dismiss the effects it can have.

Absolutely. Believer or not, there is no doubting the solace it can provide to those with faith.

Good point, I noticed that with my father he's always believed but through drugs lost his way but came back to the lord and has become very committed to lord in last year.

Malcolm Muggeridge was another, really didn't believe was against it yet became a Christian later in life.

a lot of people need faith to survive, absulutly nothing up with it,my family still go church(on my mums side) i went from a early age, sunday school, cubs, scouts then guides,
i mean, teenage girls in uniform to a horny 13 year old, mmmuuuuuwwwwwrrrrrrrrrrr, but give up when i found beer and sex, more fun imo.

in all seriousness,i believe in nothing is there at all,to many good people,my dad included have been taken far too early when to many horrible moaning *******s are still around .why would a god take good people and leave bad *******s,just don't make sense to me.
but like ive said,i have no problem with people with faith,as long as they don't try to ram it down my neck,i aint arsed ;)
