60 second interview with profesional boxer jeff thomas (stolen from boxing news) what age did you start boxing jeff? 12 what is your inspiration? Now my son, in the past Joe Louis and a host of other gr8 fighters. who is your favourite boxer? Past Joe Louis, Present Cotto or Mayweather. best fight you have ever seen? Barrera-Morales 1 what is your pre fight meal? er.... lol... 24hour weigh in usually followed by Macdonalds, KFC and Dominos (seriously). what do you do to relax? Go on ESB and take drugs with my friends. what is your pre fight superstition? I used to go to my m8 andys grave before my fights- not for good luck just because its really peaceful and used to help me get focussed. what training do you do between fights? I always trained... like swimming and weights... I've only been out of the gym 4 weeks and i'm already approaching 12 stone. typical breakfast? Porridge and banana and a brew. whats the toughest part of being a boxer? Not been good enough to fulfill my dreams. whats your favourite music? 2pac, Big L, Westlife, loads of things. ... love all music depends on my mood. where do you train? I train with Bobby Rimmer at stalybridge up until recently but when I was an active pro I trained at Blackpool with Louis Veitch and Lee Blundell. what is your training routine? Back then I was running 5 days a week, weights at least twice and boxing specific gym work 4 times a week. toughest opponent ever faced? In terms of skill i'd say I was never really outskilled by anybody... Peter Allen was the toughest guy i've ever hit... he was like a rock he just would not go down when we fought AND i POUNDED HIM. Steve Murray was the best puncher- ouch. whats your job outside boxing? Operations supervisor for a security company. who is the best boxer in the sport today? Floyd Mayweather. what are your thoughts on herbie hide? Incredible record. Some impressive wins. Some spectacular losses. How far can he go at cruiserweight? He will contest a world title and hopefully win one but his erratic temprement and terrible defence will mean that well schooled cruiser will prob be too much for him at this stage. thankyou for your time. kind regards, hide. Thank you.... I did a real one of these but then I got beat by Baz Carey and it was never printed.
Yeah me too.... ps the drugs part was a joke BTW. Although I have been known to take 5 pro plus and do 100 spins:nut
