4/18, probably in Brisbane. Oriental (WBO) and Oceania (WBA) middleweight titles at stake, 1st defenses of Horn in his second reigns with each having won both against Mundine in 2018, lost them against Zerafa last August, then won them back in the rematch last month.

Tszyu is ranked IBF #7 and WBO #9 at 154lbs. It will have been two years since he fought above the light middleweight limit, but he is 7-0 (7) career when doing so (six wins at MW, and one at super middle).

The champion has a ½″ advantage in height. The challenger has a 4" advantage in reach.

I've never seen Kostya's son fight but I just can't imagine a 7-0 (unless he were a Loma/Rigo type) guy would be ready for a rough and tumble, dirty, rugged guy like Horn.

Yeah these are the kind of gambits where if they misfire & the hot (but untested) prospect loses, he doesn't just lose his zero, he gets completely neutered. A grueling physical beatdown can ruin a young fighter's psyche.

Horndog will be coming down in weight to Junior Middle for this one. So it will be Junior Tszyu's IBF Australasian & WBO Global belts on the line.

I think Junior is ready to step up & takes it by late stoppage after some anxious moments along the way.

Junior will have to overcome Horndog's best combination if it's up there in Dizzy Brissy - headlock with the left arm while pummeling opponent with the right.

I think he can though. Junior Tszyu TKO 9 Horndog in a bloodbath.

I just watched his fight against a Marcus Cornejo. First, there's a striking resemblance to Kostya (I know it's his son), in appearance as well as posture and stance.

This seems to be about 4 or 5 fights ago, he fought very measured and poised but there wasn't anything coming back. Has he been through adversity yet? I just don't see how he's ready. Maybe some of his more recent fights show some other dimensions to him

He's ready, bro. And he's bringing the bad stuff.

He's so ready, Horndog won't face him in Sydney.

What does that tell you when the King of Australian boxing (Horndog) isn't prepared to face one of his subjects in Australia's biggest city?

It tells me the Horndog camp is running scared.

I agree it's a bit much to soon and Horn should win.

But Jnr Tszyu is bout that scrilla. I don't think they even care if they get a world title or not. He just isn't talented enough to stay champion that long. So might as well go for the marketable local matchups, a fight or two against the teacher boi makes the most sense financially id say.

From the other thread on the subject.

Here's the catch though, the old war horse, isn't old. This is way too big a step up for Tim, he's going to be mangled. Quite frankly I'm not sure he'd beat Zerafa. It's going to be the classic scenario of young kid gets pushed too hard too soon, and get battered by the far more seasoned pro, that most naively though was past it.

The fight will be at 154 mate wouldn’t surprise me if it is only a 10 rounder.

In boxing terms Horn is old. Can't make the weight he fought best at (Welter). Couldn't have been bothered training/dieting correctly before the first Zerafa fight. Who does that? Certainly not a great fighter in his prime. He even flew his own bed down to Bairnsdale so he could sleep well.

The "wins" against Pacquiao and Mundine were both fools gold, which he and his team deluded themselves with, and started thinking they could beat anybody. To hear his trainer talking about him fighting and beating Canelo was pure comedy.

Tzuyu is a young, fresh fighter. He trains for every fight as if he's fighting a world title. He doesn't have any delusions set up in his head, supported by his team, from previous victories. He trains at Wildcard and Mayweather gym in preparation for his fights. How many Australian fighters go to America to work with the best at the best gym? There is nothing soft about Tim.

To quality the above, I don't hate Jeff Horn, in fact I'm quite concerned about how much punishment he's taken in his fights since Pacquiao. He's got a lovely family that he's going to be taking care of in the future. His trainers seems to think it's O.K to keep taking that type of punishment. I don't want to read reports about him being punchy in his 40's because of his tough boxing career.

All you need to do to see how average he is as a trainer is listen to his advice during the Crawford fight. His training style is more suited to a Rocky movie than real life.

I would be happy to see Jeff retire now, let alone after the beating he gets from Tim.

Horn was stopped by Zefara and just got past him in their last fight. This is the time for TT to make it happen because if he isn't ready now he'll never be.

I think this fight will appeal to a broad demographic in Australia.

It will appeal to boxing fans, sports fans generally & fans of slasher films.

Yeah not a massive fan of Glenn Rushton myself. Obviously him and Horn seem to have a close relationship but he has copped some massive beatings of late but Rushton doesn't seem to care a lot at the same time as there were times where he should have thrown in the towel, and yes, he doesn't give much technical advice, more motivational quotes if anything. It's like listening to Anthony Joshua post fight.
