McVey- Have you read Pollack's Jeffries book? IMO, it's the best in his series so far as it enlightens much regarding Fitz, Corbett and a young Jack Johnson. It contains a lot of what you are posting as well as other next day reports. I've been meaning to dig it out to review the situations around the events you are posting about... but December is my busiest month for work and I barely got time to eat.
