Correct, and anyone with a brain knows there is a heat zone for hot items. The closer you are the source, the hotter it is. 6" can make a big difference. I believe Jeffries lost 15+ pounds. I also read doctor saying that Sharkey did in fact have a rib sticking out of his body.

 

The reply here is a good one. Yet when there was a Wlad vs. Johnson thread, you fail to use the same logic and pick Johnson on points! Wouldn’t Johnson who was even smaller, and didn't take as good as a punch, and didn't hit has hard in comparison to Jeffries the same problems?

Your reply here suggests a bit of intellectual dishonesty as the same does not apply to Johnson. In addition you fail to mention that Jeffries who floored every man he fought until his come back attempt, fought Sharkey with an injured left shoulder for 23 rounds and fought under hot lights. There was no one Vitali’s size and skills pre 1910.

If you look up Jeffries record, the bigger fighters he fought in his prime years from 200-215 pounds ( Rhulin, Kennedy, Munroe ) didn't last long.

As we have been over Munroe was 215 when Jeffries was champion. Kennedy could have weighed that much as well. Both were over in two rounds. These two were his size, which is around 6'1". Jeffries also bounced Dunkenhorst out easily in a ex match, but he was just big not skilled.

Jeffries first fought Sharkey when he was green, but managed to beat him up pretty good and floor him.

And like I told you Munroe was shot because Jeffries destroyed him. After a blow out loss, fighters seldom rebound quickly.

I already provided you a well researched link that clearly states Kennedy was above 200 pounds for some fights. Kennedy meet Jeffries late in his career. The Ruhlin and Maher fights took place for Kennedy two years before he meet Jeffries. Heavyweights tend to retire near their heaviest weight.

You're a joke. THE CBZ is well researched. If they report 192-220, it was that on the fights they researched.

It was reported that "Jeffries looked in fine shape" and "Kennedy was in fair shape, but fat."

In the first round, Kennedy didn't run but stood and fought. Jeffries landed some hard body shots and Kennedy landed a number of good jabs. In the second round, Jeffries backed Kennedy to the ropes and knocked him out with a left hook.

Now, if you have any deductive reasoning skills you will note that Kennedy was above his normal weight of 195. He was in "fair" shape but fat. Translation he was above 200 pounds.

 

Jeffries was fighting in late 1890s / early 1900s. Don't you think that it's a little inappropriate to compare him to a modern day athlete?
