Hi dudes put some more clips on and stuff... glad you enjoyed the last one. Think this ones a bit better with some nice slow-mo'zzzzzz [YT]_c70cbsHULs[/YT]
Some sweet skills in that vid....you must of been a pleasure to watch in flesh...like the way you fought in the pocket with ease...mixed your shots up with fluidity. Defensively some of the slipping was top notch. No doubting you had talent in abundance Jeff....if you go into training young fighters they're going to have a very good technician as there coach. Next Vid add some RJJ leeping left hooks with your leeping left hook clips into your vid you know you want to
:rofl:rofl yeah gotta agree. i thought the bloke should of tried win by DQ tbh....you see the ref look at jeff see the guy aint complaining and continue count....Jeff your lucky Joe Cortez didn't ref your fights mate
Thank you very much, very kind. I am training young fighters at the mo and they learn defence before they learn to punch..... here's a vid... check it out [YT]r1FzUIFf1DE[/YT] As you can see. I get them moving and thinking about positioning. This lads only 11. He's very good. He sparred very poorly on the video but he's one for the future. I was still playing with heman at 11. And yes i'm aware thats micheal jackson. Not my video.
For about 3 minutes i was amazed the people in the ring behind you were doing the exact same training and thought you were in some strict training
Thanks for uploading that video Jeff i like the way you got him slipping and using angles there...is your philosophy on teaching young fighters something you were taught as a fighter or something you've picked up on and developed yourself? Yeah your right he sparred poorly but he was very calm under pressure i noticed from that vid....lovely left hook to body aswell. Your doing a good job Jeff and the smile on the lads face said it all :good
I was trained very poorly until I was with Andy Sumner and Neville Rowe but even then I'd missed out because Andy was an incredible coach of Juniors not seniors and I joined them at 15. I learned a lot from watching videos but no one ever taught me how to defend myself, that was something I picked up from sparring bigger, older guys all the time. We get fighters coming to us from other gyms (not blackpool and Fylde ABC) who have no idea how to block a jab. No Idea how to block a right. No understanding of why they would attempt to roll instead of block. All they can do is throw puches or run away and best of all they are been charged hundreds of pounds to learn how to throw three or four punches fairly correctly. I approach training by explaining WHY we do everything. Why you block the jab with the right hand. Why you rotate your body to the right when you block a cross. Why the shoulders move when you roll. The fighters know WHY they do something and then they do it willingly. Some trainers in the sport take the complete ****. Seriously i've heard some absolute horror stories but I'm not interested in making anyone look a **** on ESB I just want to be a great trainer myself. I couldn't make it as a great fighter but I know If someones got the right engine and can learn then I'll be able to give them a lot of tools to take to 'work'.
Cheers Jeff that was a very insightful look into your philosophy :good Good Luck with your training career and keep us posted on your fighters development's mate.
It's of TFFP and was uploaded without him knowing. Back to the video, nice one Jeff. When can we see you against Zelenoff, though?! I am willing to travel for that one. Maybe Spencer Fearon might promote it:think?
