didnt realise Jennings is fighting Frank Harroche Horta on the khan bill this coming Saturday. was surprised when i saw it advertised on the itv previews as ive not seen it mentioned at all.

cant have been more than a month or so since the Minter fight. good to see he's keeping active if it's true. decent keep active opponent if the thompson fight is anything to go by too.

    First I've heard of it.

If thats the case its shaping up to be a decent undercard as Derry Matthews v Choi Tseveenpurev is on as well.

Just as well as the main event would seem to be a mere formality for Khan.

Anthony Crolla v Yousef Al Hamidi

Tony Bellew v John Baguley/Simeon Cover

    Thomas Costello v David Kirk

    Denton Vassell v TBA

Cheers, just checked the tv listings on the ITV site and coverage on ITV4 starts at 7:20pm. Just before this at 6:20pm there is a program on called Best Ever Big Fight Live.

Jennings is still better than the likes of McIntyre, Hatton, Watson and Brook.

Jennings is pretty decent and I believe him to be our best Welter weight. The fight should be one he can come through. I doubt Warren will have too many fears of trying to get him a shot at a belt or an option at some one like Margarito. I know Jennings would be a huge underdog but Warren does not seem to have the same protection idea's with his non crowd pullers than with his guys like Calzaghe and Khan. Jennings is well placed in the rankings so hopefully after this little bit of exposure he may be getting himself lined up for a push.

The Choi vs Derry fight will be great and Derry needs to give it his best if he wants to come through against his hardest opponent to date.

Just a shame the top of the bill is so poor.

I hope you are right as I would love to see Jennings land a big fight. Choi is also a very tough customer and could spring a real upset.

Yep Choi is a big step up for Derry. A good fight that could prove dangerous.

Jennings is pretty decent and has a realistic shot at getting a top fight.

would you be interested if there was no belt on the line?

jennings is a good entertaining fighter, and he doesn't pretend that the wbu belt makes him a world champion.

    live fight :

    03.02.08 Mick Jennings opponent confirmed

WBU 'world champion' Welterweight Michael Jennings (32-1, 15ko) will be fighting George Ungiadze (12-5, 4ko) on Saturday at the Bolton Arena as support to Amir Khan's WBO challenge.

Frenchman Franc Harroche Horta (13-6, 2ko) was due to be Michael's opponent but withdrew from the fight.

Jennings who was once tipped for a crack at Antonio Margarito's WBO title a couple of years ago and has also rumoured to be trying to get a crack at new champion, Carlos Quintana.

Jennings, a slick boxer with heart has recently beaten the likes of Takaloo and Ross Minter in Wales and London respectively and this Bolton outing gives his loyal fans a chance to see him fight locally.

Let's hope that Michael gets better challenges in the future than Ungiadze, whilst the Chorley fighter is in his prime

Not worthy since Hatton doesnt carry it around.

His last fight was a blast, no wonder they ITV wanna show it somewhere after seeing him last time on the Khan undercard.
