Jennings turns down Ortiz fight

Playing devil's advocate (so to speak):

Obviously HBO sweetened the deal for Jennings, since the Wlad fight was on their network. Plus, seeing as how it was a title shot, I'm positive that Jennings was paid more money to face Wlad than what he is being offered to fight Ortiz. Ortiz is a high risk fight with no belts on the line. Therefore Jennings must want more $$$ for it.

I still think he should have taken the fight, but it is what it is. This is actually a "duck" we've just seen, but it's happened before... and not just with Heavyweights. I disagree with the notion that Jennings couldn't win the Ortiz fight.

 

Who does Jennings think he is? He hid 12 rounds behind his double defense and landed two shots at Wladimir! Even Wach landed more ffs.

Hope Povetkin fights him and knocks him out.

 

Povetkin is taking an easy tune up fight in Nov it seems.
And no it's not Jennings.

In Jennings' defense......

He is a top 10 HW.

Ortiz is NOT.

Why would Jennings, who made $300K+ vs Perez, fight a KNOWN roids cheat for short $$$ when it doesnt do ANYTHING for him in the rankings, legacywise, or financially.

Jennings could fight on the Wlad Fury undercard vs someone like Rudenko and probably get just as much $$$ as he would fighting Roidtiz on the GGG card.

IMO, Jennings is making a SMART decision avoiding a potential roided to the gills HW.

Jennings manager should counter GBPs offer, and demand VADA testing. If Ortiz agrees, and the moneys right, then he could make this fight.

Ortiz just looking to roid smash someone so he can get Chagaev. :nono
