One were gunned down last autumn in Moscow by russian Vityaz, while the other one stepped on the real King Kong and were eaten alive... Both seek for restoration, and wanna get on that train back as soon as possible. Two grinding stamina machines going at it, but there can only be one, who would come out on top? Jennings vs Takam.
Jennings needs to take fights like Aguilera, Bakhtov, Rossy this year. He's had a very rough path for the last 5 fights of his. And Takam vs Joshua, Parker or Ruiz would all be good fights for IBF eliminator so I don't see this fight happening. But If it did, It'd be a very close fight ending with a SD/MD/Draw.
We need more like Jennings. He has fought Fedesov, Szpilka, Perez, Wladimer, Ortiz now Takam if this is true. I pick Jennings in this one.
Ever since Takam gave Povetkin that difficult fight he's ridiculously overrated on this board. Only impressive win was a washed up Tony Thompson, who frankly was never much more than a fringe contender even in his prime. That being said he might beat Jennings, I've lost a lot of confidence in Jennings since the Ortiz fight.
Who has Takam ever beat? Nobody. Jenning is the much more proven, and skilled, boxer. He also has a good chin, good power, and reach advantage.
Takam looked better against Perez and Povetkin than Jennings looked against Perez and Ortiz. Their resumes aren't that much greater than one another.
Yes, and I think Ortiz and Povetkin are quite evenly matched too. Like their amateur fight demonstrated.
Good match-up. Jennings is a tough and hungry late-bloomer who came short twice against the elite of the division but put up a fight both times. Takam is not quite elite himself but he fought evenly against Povetkin before gassing out. Toss-up fight IMO.
