Jennings went life and death with Byarm...Mago destroyed Byarm in 2 rounds

I'm not sure jennings has the power to bother Mago.

Someone like Boytsov, however, would likely have the skill to avoid Mago's big bombs, the skill take advantage of his "just hit me in the face" defense, and the power to take him out.

I love this style. . . Such a contrast of styles. . . They each might possess the other's "kryptonite," if you will.

It's a true 50/50 fight IMO. . . I am a little disappointed in Jennings not so eager to take the fight, but I can understand his position of beating better opposition (Liakhovich was really a good win for him so early in his career).

If Mago beats a guy like Travis Walker, then he'll have pretty much beaten the same level of guy.

 

There is a lot to think about. But who else is there for Bryant Jennings? He should be done fighting the Steve Collin's of the world.

 

He might not KO him but a nice UD perhaps. And No I think Boytsov is the luckiest guy ever. He really has no skill. I think Mago would KO Boytsov in 1 round.

Mago vs Jennings is a good fight. Both have exposure on FNF and the crowds knows them. They both have about the same exposure and have similar records. I think both are pretty equally matched. There is no reason for this fight not to happen, unless the management from both teams are thinking it is to risky. However, who ever wins would be 2-3 fights away from a world title.

 

I have watched the fight again a couple of times ( gotta luv 2 rounders ) and make this observation: Byarm handled Abdusalamov fairly well until he went to the ropes and then Abdusalamov destroyed him. I don't understand why Byarm put himself in a corner twice. A mobile fighter may be problematical for Mago. Also, it didn't seem like Byarm knew how to clinch.

I can see why neither Jennings nor Abdusalamov would want a contest against each other; at this point they want a known "name" on their records. An Abdusalamov vs Jenning fight may be interesting but prospect vs prospect might not bring the amount of attention a fight vs Arreola or Peter would.

Jennings came in with the wrong plan but was winning the first round. Jennings would outbox Mago, providing he can last the first 3 rounds and not get caught. I think Mago is great fun to watch but leaves himself open to counters and has little in the way of defence. Should be fun watching him, I'd love to see him fight David Price, and see how he deals with a solid boxer with a strong jab and wicked right hand.
