Hopkins shouldn't lower himself to fight Taylor again

 

i had him losing the first and winning the second..
he didnt wake up in time to salvage the first fight.

 

Hopkins needs to fight Tayor and Jones again.

 

I think Hops would love to get revenge. I think the public would be intrigued.

Plus if Taylor could dominate Hopkins it would be spectacular for his career, something he couldn't do before and something Pavlik couldn't come close to doing. If Hops wins its major bragging rights. Then he can spend the rest of his life telling us he really beat Calzaghe and really has three wins over Taylor.

I've never, EVER EVER EVER heard such rubbish in my life. To say the fight was close is just completely insane and not based on facts or reality in any way. Did you even watch the fight. Froch was out classed, out speeded and out witted for almost the entire bout. Taylor made Froch look like he was boxing in slow motion. All Froch did was follow Taylor round the ring like a terminator absorbing punch and punch and not connecting with any of his own. He just didn't know how to handle the step up in class. He was very lucky Taylor ran out of gas.

Please I'm asking you to rewatch the fight and watch it properly, I cannot handle the thought of someone being that wrong.

I like Froch I think the guy has the heart and stamina of a hero but he was technically outclassed that night and given a big boxing lesson.

Excellent post. After I rewatched the fight I really noticed this. JT would throw those pretty flurries that everyone loves to see, but they werent really doing a whole lot, while Froch kept consistently scoring, but it was never flashy.

When Froch started breaking Taylors guard I knew that was when JT was getting outmuscled. That takes a damn hard puncher to break a guys gloves like that, and JT was getting pushed backwards every time. He was constantly resetting himself and then after doing that he was able to combo.

watching a fight live and watching on TV are two different things. When you are ringside, the guy who is forcing the other figher backwards is gonna look to be the one winning. Fighter A landing a nice combo every minute or so doesnt win him the round when you see fighter B constantly busting him backwards and imposing his strength.

Likewise. I watched it a second time, because I also noticed Taylors corner telling him he needed the last 2 rounds.

Then I rewatched it and realized Froch had been forcing him to give ground since the 6th while scoring with a number of hard punches along the way. It was one and 2 at a time, but Froch apparently has some power, because it spelled the difference at the end.

 

I guess Hopkins is so bitter because he deserved the nod in both fights. They were close fights, yeah, and not really 'robberies', but still...

I don't think so. I think Jermain just can't fight for 12 rounds at a time. He can go 10 good rounds, gasp his way thru 11, but if the other guy has any juice in the 12th Jermain is going down.

 

Just rewatch it if you are able. I thought the same thing initially when I was watching it.
It was only on the second viewing that I realized that Froch was being more effective than he appeared. I still had Taylor up by a number of points, but the momentum had been shifting towards Froch. That 10th and 11th round Taylor was getting desperate. He couldnt keep Froch off him any longer
