Unfortunately, I think the winner of this fight will not get much credit amongst hard core fans, even though a high ranking, great media exposure and great opportunities will come with a win for the victor.

Definitely, this is a good fight that would answer a lot regarding either man's future in boxing.

The winner willl (and of course should) get a lot of credit. It is a tough fight for both and when winner is found I am sure we can all see in hindsight why this fighter was always going to win.

it is most probably a win win situation for lacy.

his stock can plummet no lower ,so even if he is competitive and loses it will be a plus point for him , while taylor has to get a ko win and look good doing it to receive acclaim.

Only if the winner is Jeff Lacy. Taylor should beat him up real bad, anything else will be a disappointment. Lacy has been getting pitty decisions over low quality fighters, unless Taylor has lost it, this will be a mismatch.

Either way the winner will get a shot at the WBC title, which will no doubt be Taylor

Taylor will school Lacy - then surely fight the winner of Froch vs Pascal?

Yep and he will then go on to school either Froch or Pascal

    Why "surely"?

Why not gun for Kessler's belt, for example?

He's a much better fighter than either Froch or Pascal and he'd love to fight the Taylor/Lacy winner, I am sure.

Just because Taylor took one fight that wasn't the hardest around, in Lacy, doesn't mean he will continue in that vein. It's not in his character. Taylor fights the best.

I think people are forgetting Lacy went life and death with Epifanio Mendoza, although it was an awesome fight to watch, it showed how shot Lacy is. Lacy got the pitty decision but any objective scorer would have had it a draw at best for Lacy and he should have been deducted a point when he put a blatant (but clever) tackle on Mendoza when he was hurt badly.

I see your point - and Kessler will more than likely bring more $$$$, and lets face it he will be after that.

Plus it gives him another oppurtunity to avoid Froch at all costs (assuming he gets by Pascal)

Maybe it's in his character now. My guess is that Froch will win, Taylor will win and Taylor will duck the fight again, choosing an easier fight in the US which he will claim was for 'better money'. We'll see.

Yeah he certainly wouldn't want to take the dangerous Froch when there are easy fights like Kessler around. :patsch
