Thats like saying what if JT all of a sudden can throw 50 punches a rd every rd and not get winded.

Those are just hypotheticals that have no real base in history. As guys move up in weight they normally work even less. All we can do is base on what fighters have done and their styles. AA is a miserably slow fighter for the first half of fights and JT is an accurate puncher with good reach and pop. AA will likely shell up a lot more vs JT than he has vs his fairly weak middleweigth opposition due to JT's punching power, thus allowing JT to throw less and conserve his energy.

I just hope the rumours about him working with Mackie Shieldstone (sp) are true, also im hoping he decides to get another trainer like Nazeem Richardson and have Ozzell as an assistant. If he does all this i could see him geuinly winning the whole thing, but currently i dont see him winning it as much as id love for him to. Mikkel would beat everone in the tournament IMO, he's a cut above the rest from what i've seen (havnt seen much of Andre/'s though).

    your kidding right?

Dude it's well known that AA has trouble making weight. I don't know if you box or not but when you struggle to make weight it affects everything you do in the ring especially the energy you have. therefore your work rate would suffer. Nothing hypothetical about it.

Kessler is head and shoulders above the rest here.

The number two guy isn't even in the mix (Bute).

So I would rate Taylor as the number two.

Mind you he's let me down in three of his last four. I picked him twice over Kelly and once over Froch.

He's the exact opposite of AA.

Against most fighters, if AA lost the first 11 rounds, I would pick him to win by KO in the 12th.

Against most fighters, If Jermaine won the first eleven rounds, I'd still worry for him till the final bell.

I'm a fan of both Jermaine and AA. Don't know yet which one I'll lean towards.

Wish it was Froch/Taylor and AA/Ward.

Why no Pascal, Andrade or Green ?

I am sorry but NOBODY is "clowning" Arthur and that includes JT. A lot of posters have not seen many arthur fights. Jermain Taylor is not very hard to find, his right hand is almost non existant while in defensive mode, arthur's best punch is his left hook, left upper cut, I see arthur countering J T with EASE. Arthur also has a sneaky straight right that will be hurting Taylor. Pavlik used his straight right to hurt Taylor, arthur will also. A lof of posts I read here on ESB is like a broken record. ARTHUR IS NOT ACTIVE ENOUGH. That may be true, but that also might be because his stamina is not as good as it CAN BE, watch Miranda 2 at 166. Jermain Taylor has an excellent jab which will catch arthur, unfortunately with the high guard, he will not be as accurate as he wants to be. As far as defense, if Jermain Taylor feels he is not catching arthur like he did to Froch or Lacy, he will get frustrated. I think as an Arthur fan, I have never read any poster write the following. In my opinion, the reason Arthur fights SO DEFENSIVE is not because he is "testing" or studying his opponent, it has to do with him FRUSTRATING his opponents. If you watch his second Miranda fight, Miranda was pawing at his gloves pushing it down to connect. I think this fight is much easier then a lot of people think for arthur.
I predict an AA KTFO ROUND 5.

The info on JT working with Shillstone came from Dibella. Now, if you add Nazzim to the mix, I got JT to win the whole thing.

Andrade is rematching Bute. Pascal probably wants to defend his LHW title, and Green doesn't belong.

I think Jermain has a strong chance to upset Abraham. Jermain is a fast starter and Abraham is a very slow starter. I think Jermain has a great chance at getting a big lead on Abraham early like 6 of the first 8 rounds maybe. Plus hes been at this weight is last 2 hes carrying it well. I believe this is a tossup its not like Taylor was shutout by Froch he was up on the cards heading into the last round and dropped him.

Actually this is Jermain's 3rd straight at SMW. Pavik/Taylor II was contracted at 166.

That is the question. Against Marquez he showed he can be aggressive, but that was because Marquez couldn't hurt him. Taylor still has a sizable 'pop' advantage over Marquez though. Froch was willing to take to give, this helped where Taylor out. Not so sure Abraham is willing to do that. Haven't seen it yet from him.

hopefully jt really bears down and focuses during training b/c this is it for him...this smw tourney will either breathe life into his career or end it. i'm pulling for him big time. he's always been a class act in victory or defeat. i still can't write him off and think he can make some noise

edit to note that he's got all the motivation in the world w/ the fact that this is it if he shows poorly and many people think he'll get pounded. Of course, many people are pulling for him but there is enough talk of him being ruined, or shot or over hyped all along to motivate him to have a good showing of himself in this tourney

He only needs beat AA for me to be a happy man. A rematch win over Froch would be a bonus.
