Let's pay tribute to two truly throwback fighters, these guys have suffered losses at the hands of elite fighters and never ducked a challenge. If only the sport had more people like them. Fighters like this makes boxing just that, boxing.

I feel bad for both of 'em. I've been fans of Taylor and Cotto since 03 or 04.

It's hard to watch your favs get beat down, though if anyone had to beatdown cotto, I'm glad it was the Pacman, he's another fighter I like.

respect to both fighters. jermain has been an all time favorite of mine and i've always liked cotto. there is a strain of "if you're not an atg then your no better than a club fighter" thought on here. but **** that. these are two classy fighters who fought the best and came up short at times. if we had more fighters like these two, boxing would be better for it.

Yea you have to give them their dues. I think now retirement is the best bet for them both.

After the Froch fight is when Taylor should have hung his gloves up...he almost had that one in the bag, in the end u could tell he just isn't fit to stay in the sport any longer...as far as Cotto IMO he has 2 or 3 fights left in him. Both are true warriors tho.

Well said. Though I don't think Cotto is as far down the path as JT. Both classy fellas.

i totatally agree. i'm from oakland and if taylor fights on it will probably be the first time i root against ward if he fights taylor. their probably the most sucessful fighters to come out of the 2000 olympics, when you compare them to audley harrison, rocky juarez, and jeff lacy.
