I know that. I keep trying to explain it to these people who keep saying 'Taylor won't gas against Abraham because Abraham isn't a pressure fighter'. Mostly Taylor gassing is nothing to do with what his opponent is doing.

Taylor's stamina has nothing to do with speed. He's too damn tense and stiff in the ring.

Roy Jones had all the speed in the world, and as always had great stamina becuause how loose n relaxed he always remained.

It is going to be a very interesting fight. Learning to relax is about the only thing that is gonna make a difference at this point because it is too late in the game for him to be able to develop his stamina seriously.

Well, see my posts to Cobbler. Both play a role. It is part of the pacing. After he explodes and burns the energy he has to know how/when he can relax some. Dempsey says you don't clinch your fist till you throw a punch. Things like that.

I don't like it... concerning about stamina while he should totally focus on doing his thing is not the best thing for your confidence. Abraham is a physical force but doesn't apply a lot of pressure (other than you have to be alert all the time because he can explode with explosive power at any moment) nor busy workrate. Jermain is a fast starter and should start fast not giving Abraham the usual comfort zone and pace he uses to measure his opponents. The good start always was one of the main strength of JT, but now it's like he's saying "I'm gonna pace himself", therefore playing into Abraham's hands, who doesn't like awfully busy fights either but very comfortable and relaxed if he has the time and space to operate.

Mental things often have an effect on physical attributes such as stamina, and thinking about "is this pace too fast, am I gonna gas?" is the last thing you wanna do when 100% concentration is needed.

I wish Taylor simply to put away this negative thinking and do what brought him to the highest level: focus on his game and abilities, because at his game, he's one helluva fighter to beat for anyone.

Well considering Taylor said after the Froch fight that he trained as hard he could and he was insinuating that he was in the best possible shape he could be in, dont see what is going to be different now.

I remember him saying that to. :good I dont know why people keep going on about Taylor getting tired because of Froch's high tempo like that is supposed to tarnish his KO victory some how.
