According to an article in the Miami Herald Jermain Taylor is contemplating a return to the middleweight divsion. Bad move for JT. Pavlik has his number. Here's the link. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/other/story/753361.html
I think he should test the waters at 168 see how he does before he thinks about moving back down. I think 168 is where he nees to be.
would be a big step backwards, think Pavlik and Abraham would have him. Plus imagine the stick he'd get for leaving a growing division after 1 fight.
I was hoping to see me Taylor take on the best at 168 lbs but with Pavlik and Wright back in the frame at 160 lbs and with Abraham, Sturm and Mundine around too, Taylor could still make good fights. Sure is easier to fight these boys if you can still make weight than go at it at 168 lbs.
I'd like to see how Taylor would fare at 168 first before moving back down.. I'm pretty sure he'll beat Lacy, but the fight I'd like to see is Taylor vs Kessler.. Taylor could definitely make a name for himself at 168, but if you ask me, 160 is just as dangerous almost.. I think the only two guys Taylor would have to worry about at 168 is Kessler and Froch.. At 160, he would have Pavlik and Abraham to worry about.. Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing him in either division, but would like to see what he can do at 168 first..
He has fewer physical advantages over the bigger fellers at 168 lbs than over the fellers at 160 lbs. If he can make weight, Taylor better go down to 160 lbs if he wants to keep winning. Damned shame! Couldn't wait to see me Taylor against Kessler!
Wasn't Taylor the one blaming his first loss against Pavlik on the weight and now he's saying he should move back down to 160? Gimme a break. atsch
Taylor is intrigued by the fact that Pavlik lost to the man he beat twice. However, I'm sure someone will remind JT that Pavlik at 160 is a completely different animal than a sick and injured KP at 170. I hope Taylor fights at 168. Lacy is a smart come back fight, and JT is WAY to fast for Froch. After that I want to see Taylor/Kessler.
