Jermain Taylor has 2 wins over a younger Hopkins at his prime weight and was never embarrassingly knocked down in the first round.

Hopkins fought Calzaghe at his 7th weight division (lightheavy, middleweight, near superwelterweight, middleweight, lightheavy, near supermiddle, light heavy) when he was 44 years old and the ref had to give calzaghe a slow count to avoid being embarrassingly stopped in the first round.

Jermain Taylor beat Hopkins twice at middleweight where Hopkins is considered to be amongst the top 3 of all time where as Calzaghe got a gift decision against Hopkins at his 7th weight division back up at light heavyweight after coming up from near superwelterweight (fighting dlh at 156)

Taylor got a gift decision over Hopkins that was a blatant robbery.Plus Taylor just got ktfo'd from the super six.

Calzaghe is not my favorite fighter ever by a long shot, but never try to put Taylor over anyone with a ticky tac this and that tactic.Taylor got KTFO'd.End of thread

    Calzaghe struggled Vs Hopkins

Taylor struggled vs Cory Spinks, got beat twice by Pavlik, beat by Froch and AA

I am going to nip this ridiculous troll bait thread by pointing out that Jermain Taylor has a disgraceful Glass Jaw, got a gift against blown-up Welterweight Cory Spinks, and a gift draw against a shot Winky Wright. He also lost twice to Addams Family reject Plodder Pavlik.:rofl:patsch

For all the talk about prime Calzaghe's "amazing" performance against shot Roy Jones he was unable to stop him and was legitly floored in the first round yet again by a 40+ year old shot fighter.

Calzaghe was unable to do what Glen Johnson and Tarver did to a younger and better version of Roy Jones. 40 year old Roy Jones chin was pure glass yet Calzaghe couldnt stop him?

Hopkins dominated Tarver and Glen Johnson who have better wins over Roy Jones than Calzaghe does. Jermain Taylor has two wins over a better Hopkins than Calzaghe's gift win.

Prime Jermain Taylor vs Prime Calzaghe at SMW.

Calzaghe SD Taylor, Calzaghe down in the 1st, Taylor down in the 12th.

BS. Embarassingly knocked down in the first round does now diminish a fighter if after the knockdown he gets up and slaps his opponent silly? Where does that leave Joe Louis...? JC was never embarassingly knocked out in winnable fights against technically limited opponents, like Taylor was against Pavlik and Froch.

Taylor doesn't have a single non - controversial win over an elite opponent. Yes, two wins over Hopkins are impressive, but both fights could have gone either way. Taylor then struggled with Ouma, Spinks alevel of fighters that JC dominanted all his career. JC could come back straight out of cocaine rehab and beat Pavlik. This is one of the most biased, short -sighted comparison of two fighters I have ever seen.

Yes, Calzaghe's last two fights don't add to his legacy. But with your logic: Calzgahe beat a better Kessler than the version that was still good enough to beat Froch, who KTFO'd Taylor....

Where does Taylor have a CLEAR win over an Eubank/Kessler -level opponent? Or ten years without losing, draws or gift decisions? Or a stoppage win over someone like Byron Mitchell? Where does Calzaghe have losses to plodders like Pavlik or Froch?

Hahaha, everytime Calzaghe's been knocked down he's sucked it up and come back to win those fights to prove what a warrior and true champion he is.

Everytime Taylor's been knocked down the carnt gets sent to Disneyland and thinks he's sleeping beauty
