Boxing superstar Jermain Taylor just appeared in court ... and said he's NOT GUILTY of assault and making terroristic threats at a Martin Luther King Jr. day parade back in January. As we previously reported, Taylor was arrested in Arkansas after he allegedly pulled a gun on a married couple and their 3 young children ... and fired two shots in a rage ... after one of the children dropped his championship belt. Taylor was charged with 5 counts of aggravated assault, 1 count of making a terroristic threat and 1 count of possession of a controlled substance. Taylor -- who's currently in a court-ordered substance abuse program -- also asked the court if he could be allowed out of the program once a week to handle personal and professional issues ... but the judge denied his request. A trial date has been set for September 15th
Oh, Jermain. That it even reached the point where you even need to emit this sound byte from your face... time for a good long hard look in the mirror, buddy.
Frontal lobe damage is nothing to mess with. If your reasoning skills have been compromised, then who knows what you're capable of doing. Especially if you're a professional fighter.
If you have to say to the media, "I'm not a terrorist," I'd say you have some serious personal issues to think about. That statement should literally never have to come out of your mouth. LOL
He needs the type of help that getting punched in the head can't provide him with. Unfortunately, the mind is so fragile I don't see much hope in him recovering to have any normalcy. We'll hear about him being dead in about five years I fear :-(
Yeah, this past incident feels very much like a harbinger of doom or the drawing near of circling vultures to me.
I dunno. If you're ever wrongly charged with a terrorist offence, it would be worth stating in court, I reckon.
Well, they charged him with making a "terrorist" threat. He was clearly pointing out how ridiculous it sounded, so he said "I'm not a terrorist." If you threaten to hurt someone, and they're afraid of you, by law you are guilty of making a terrorist threat. You don't have to have a weapon. You just have to make a threat, and they just have to be afraid. It's a pretty grandiose term, considering in today's world all you really have to do is scowl at someone and say, "I'll f*ck you up!" ... and you can be charged with making a "terrorist theat."
I'm going to guess Vic meant that Jermain should've maybe avoided brandishing a gun at some children and their mom in public. :conf Just a shot in the dark (so to speak)
I can agree with that. Jermain Taylor should be locked up for doing that, brain damage or not, terrorist or not.
