Here are some things I'd like to see Taylor change. 1) Find a way to develop much better finishing instincts. Go back at look at the 3rd round of Taylor/Froch. I'm not talking about just the knockdown. I'm talking about the entire second and third minutes of the round. Had that been Bute, Kessler, Andrade, or Pavlik, Froch would not have made it out of that round. 2) Stop wasting so much energy, and learn to relax. Movement for the sake of movement isn't a good idea. 3) Stop going straight back. He's getting better about that, but he still does it. 4) Learn tactical clinching. 5) Be more consistent with the right hand. He does not consistently follow up jabs and hooks with good hard right hands. He lands great shots with his left and stops. Kessler or Pavlik would have had Froch's left eye completely closed by mid rounds because when they land jabs consistently, the right ain't far behind, it's was already on its way when they landed the jab. Taylor is not consistent with that.
He has stoped going straight back altough he still does it but rarely and only when fatigue gets in.He did it very rarely with Lacy and Froch. And I noticed he does move more now.Hell he even stops pushing the action so that he won't burn out but he still does it.He can't correct that as much as he tried. And it's gonna be really HARD to find a good trainer for him.
:goodBEAUTIFUL POST. 2 and 3 **** me off SOOO much. in both pavlik fights he would back straight up constantly, especially after getting hurt. that just invited kelly to blast him with straight rights all night long. for such a tremendous athelete, he should be using more lateral movement. the killer instinct i don't know if it can be taught but he didn't learn it with manny. he needs to go after opponents, WITHOUT wasting energy. looking at Pavlik 1, he went after kelly like a monster but didn't hit him with anything significant. like foreman in the early part of his career, he wastes energy without purpose and it's drains his stamina and then when he goes all out, he finds the well empties quickly because his punches turn wide and sloppy. a good trainer can remedy both of these
BOO. Ward 50/50 JT. Dirrell im not sure of. . But AA i feel Blast his **** to the Moon. Good thing is JT even if he loses to AA can come back with a W over Dirrel and Ward even after a loss to AA would keep him in the picture
