Looks like Taylor will be fighting Candelo on the Broner-Maidana card on Dec 14. Showtime hasn't said if it will be on Showtime Extreme or not.

Holy ****, Candelo is still fighting? He was never that good in his prime, and his prime was close to 15 years ago. This tells me all I need to know about how little confidence Taylor's handlers have in him at this point.

    Totally meaningless fight.

Taylor should have stopped fighting years ago. He must really need the money.

it is sad the last fight I saw him in his balance was awful and he struggled. Looking back he should have never left Pat Burns he seemed to regress under Steward.

I just hope he doesn't get hurt he has zero punch resistance he simply can't take a punch.

I'd agree that Taylor's team know Taylor is at the end and don't want to risk him at all.

I don't think its a totally meaningless fight though. I don't know if GBP is now promoting Taylor but he's on one of their cards so GBP has to have some interest in Taylor.

GBP has a couple good middleweights in Quillen and Jacobs but are lacking big name opponents since most seem to be with HBO.

Taylor still has name value and I wouldn't be shocked if the plan is to get Taylor in the ring with either Jacobs or Quillen after Taylor gets a quick fight or two in and him being on one of their cards is the first step.

Emmanual Steward + JT = ruined career.

Glad to see him again fighting on tv but unless he retires its gonna end badly

He will probably end up fighting Jacobs or Quillin, although Quillin is beatable he has legit power and would stop Taylor

who is this guy he is fighting? im bout to go to sum research on him. hes prolly nothing special but niether is jermaine at this point of his career.

knowing golden boy like others said yeah if they are promoting jt then yeah they will put him in with comp that they now jt can compete w/ and mostly win. then move him up to fight quillin or jacobs

    X2

Taylor was one fighter I watched even before he was on HBO undercards. Followed him all the way up. Juan Diaz was another one I followed all the way and I have a special connection to them. To this day I just don't know what happened with Taylor he never really listened to Steward in the corner it was just a bad match up for whatever reason.

I don't know, the Truax win was decent for Taylor. To me it would suggest he has something left in the tank

Taylor, even in his current state should still walk this.

I think this will set him up to fight Peter Q.

It's really sad that shot JT will be fed to Quillin or Jacobs. And, of course, whichever of those two fights JT will take more credit than he should.
