UPDATE: Lou DiBella on Twitter confirms that Jermain Taylor left the hospital:

"JT out of the hospital and ok. Thats all that matters right now. Boxing is a hard way to earn a living..Getting out healthy is everything."

Sauerland statement says Taylor is vacationing in Europe:

Team Sauerland and King Arthur Abraham were relieved to hear that Jermain Taylor was able to leave the hospital on Sunday. He departed Berlin as originally scheduled and is now vacationing in Europe. “We are relieved to hear that Jermain is feeling better and that he could leave the hospital on Sunday,” Team Sauerland General Manager Chris Meyer said. “The health is more important than a win or a loss. Jermain is a great fighter and a great champion.”

And King Arthur Abraham added: “I was very sorry when I heard about him spending the night in hospital. I want to defeat my opponents in the ring but I do not want to harm them.. The health is the most important thing and I am very happy that Jermain is doing fine. It was an honour to fight him.”

Let us all support Jermain Taylor who was hospitalized after the hard knockout he received yesterday. He hit the canvas very hard. Jermain is in a Berlin hospital, and according to promoter Lou DiBella, he will stay for several days.

"He has a severe concussion. He also had some short-term memory loss, and in the interest of being completely safe and overly safe, he'll be in the hospital probably for several days. They believe the area of his head that was hurting him was from his head hitting the canvas. He'll be in Berlin for another week because the doctors didn't want him to fly, but his wife and his mother are with him."

I wish a speedy recovery for JT, the former MW World Champion, a great family man and a very talented athlete.

:? WOW,hope he does recover soon... BTW, it may be time 4 him to think about continuing in the tournament, and the sport, just 1 more fight could be very detrimental and he doesn't need that... I think that should be it 4 him.

That's sad! :( You know what? I love AA's style, but JT seems to be a very likeable family man. I really wish him all the best. And: He's NOT shot. Yesterday he fought against someone with incredible punching power who can KO everyone taking part in the tournament. His loss to Froch was plain stupid, otherwise he would've won clearly. He will win his next fights if he stays in the tournament.

I hope he uses his recovery time wisely to reflect on how much more of this he wants to take. I'm not saying he has to retire, i don't even know the guy so what gives me the right to say that? But i do hope he seriously considers the risks involved.

I hope this KO didn't finish his career. The way he was still fighting back after being almost out in rd.9, without fading in the last rounds, he is NOT shot. He just got that mental lapse, relaxing when he thought the fight is over, but there were still seconds on the clock. He would have dropped a narrow decision, by like 2 points (with the deduction), which is not a shame since this was the strongest Abraham in a long time, maybe ever. In that shape, he would have beaten Froch, and could still be some factor in the tournament. With this KO, this may be unlikely, and not favourable, healthwise.

It'd be okay if Taylor drops out of the tourney. He should be more concerned about his health at this point.

You reckon JT has made enough money from boxing to be able to retire? If he's financially secure, he needs to get out whilst his health is still in tact. It is the manner of his defeats that is disturbing - he has lost three of his last five fights by KO or TKO!
