What if I think he's not overrated, not an ATG, and I'm not sure he'll be in the HOF?

Then you think he's a good boxer that won titles

He is, but that option isn't in your poll. I would say neither if it didn't say "future HOF" next to it. Maybe he will be, maybe not. Who can really say at this point?

We'll find out after the Froch fight exactly how JT will be looked upon in the future. If he wants to make a move towards ATG beating Froch in style is a good start. If he loses forget ATG because Froch is nowhere near that standard atm and JT is still in his peak years so no excuses. HoF with a couple more good wins is guaranteed.

No big deal. I'll just choose the third option. Like I said, I think he was way overrated before the Pavlik fights, but not anymore, not by the majority anyway.

    None of those options :?

I don't think he's overrated anymore (he was before Pavlik...badly).

He's not an ATG, nor do I think he has the ability to become one.

I wouldn't put him in the HOF yet.

Those days a boxer is either overrated, either a bum or past his prime. And this words often coming from people that never put the gloves. No respect at all.

Well he was overrated at one time, but with the losses to Pavlik and the multiple horrendous title defenses he had I think people now see him for what he is, a talented, yet highly flawed fighter.

I doubt he'll ever achieve any all time greatness as I don't see any top fighter out there that he could currently beat.. and if you don't have the names you don't get the recognition. In about a year or so it wouldn't surprise me if he became an afterthought like Jeff Lacy after another loss or two.

He is good but not great. I think he beat those guys he had questionable decisions with. And I do think he could have beaten Calzaghe since he is younger and could have used his speed.

Kessler won't duck him, he has already shown by unifying the title and going to Wales to face Calzaghe, plus beating the #3 (Mundine) and #4 (Andrade) guys in the division that he is willing to face the best contenders. However, Taylor may have to moderate his demands a bit. If he starts all this "I want the lion's share of the purse and I don't want to have to get my passport out" crap as a mere contender, Kessler would be within his rights to tell him to get in line!
