Jermaine has a beautiful jab, if he uses it effectively and paces himself he could still wins some fights. He needs to reinvent himself a little to do it. His old herky jerky style and nervous energy won't do it anymore I don't think. We'll see.
I'm cool with him coming back as long as he gets with a trainer that ACTUALLY TEACHES HIM HOW TO FIGHT! Jermain Taylor IMO got by a lot of fights on his athletic ability and not necessarily his boxing skills. I think in his two wins against Hopkins he just overwhelmed Hopkins and earned decisions because he was just a lot more active. But he now needs to learn how to box. And since he's been KOed so much, I hope he's concentrating on becoming more of a defensive fighter.
At 160 he could make some noise. If he can get himself back into contention, a Martinez-JT fight is one I wouln't mind watching. The long layoff has been more than enough time for JT to recover from AA and Froch KOs and only the AA one was particularly brutal.
Most people had him ahead in that fight going into the final round. He gassed and got caught by a really good fighter. I'm a little worried about his long term nuerological outlook after the AA bout, but it's his life.
If Taylor can get focused, put the past behind him,and not be a roy jones type "gun shy"fighter,he probably still has the tools to win the middleweight championship.Id love to see him get it on with Sergio.
Jermain MOTHER****ING BAD INTENTIONS Taylor:bbb:hammertime:vonnecunt:bananamaniac:bananamaniac:bananamaniac I'm very excited about seeing JT back in the ring under Pat Burns, and operating at 160!! I'm 100% certain that Burns knows what he's doing and will take good care of Jermain.
If KP can make it back down to 160, and Jermain picks up a world title, a 3rd fight might make perfect sense at some point.
Well, word was that part of the 'sentence' was to work with whathisname from Balco to get back down to 160. All just rumors at this point though.
